Wow!!! What a great time it was the last weeks of 2011. I met my new foster family, John, Jana, Jasmine the cat & Marshall the beta fish. I got to experience Halloween. It was fun going to the door and seeing the little kids in their costumes. I got to go on a long ride to the country. I met my very extended foser people and saw more squirrels than a greyhound on a leash should get to see. I have a foster cat. she is not very friendly, but I am very gentle with her and we even ended up sleeping on the same bed. I gave her a kiss. the foster people were not sure what to think abot that. I have really fallen in love with plushies that squeak! I get a dollar if I sleep till the alarm goes off. I don't hve very many of them but I'm learning to sleep in. I got to go to the zoo and was featured on News 2. I gave the little puppy that was in the story with me a kiss. It looked like we had rehearsed. I am very happy and give lot of kisses!

I have been to quite a few meet & greets at PetSmart. I like going. I get petted on and get lots of love. I meet lots of people. The best part is getting treats. Umm!!!

I went to stay with a foster foster family while John & Jana and my foster Grandpa James Ray went to Hawaii for the holidays. I had lots of fun. You read all about it earlier.

Well I am resting up for tomorrow, the big Winter Gathering at MTSU. There will be lots of other greyhounds there. Treats galore, More plushies than you can shake a stick at. We will also get to run and have races. I will give you a report on all the fun after tomorrow.

Kinsey Waiting For Santa

Kinsey met Santa and is now waiting on the big night. She has a few presents under the tree.

The best present she could receive would be her forever home. Look at those eyes! Can you say no?

Kinsey came for a short stay with us while her other foster parents are away for a few weeks.
She came in and made herself at home in a short time. She found a few toys and the resident hounds beds. The best description of her is a total sweetie.

If you're interested you better act fast. I have a feeling her first home visit she will be adopted.

Check back for more updates on this cutie.

Kinsey Meets Santa!

Kinsey went to the 100 Oaks Meet and Greet last Saturday and had a big time. She is doing wonderful in her foster home and really seems to be coming out of her shell. She enjoyed all of the attention on Saturday and gave out lots of kisses!

She even got to meet Santa Claus!

Kinsey at the Halloween Meet and Greet

Kinsey's new foster parents brought her out to Meet and Greet at 100 Oaks yesterday. She is a little shy, but she doesn't get too overwhelmed at the busy Meet and Greets she has been to. She just loves to be petted.

Enjoy the pictures and look for more from her new foster parents soon!

If you talk sweet to her she'll bury her face on you to give you some love.

Kinsy is doing very well. She is a little reserved but not shy. She is starting to learn to play with stuffies. She has had no accidents in the house or in the crate.
She is good in the crate but does sleep thru the night on a dogbed in my bedroom at night. She is very good in the house and usually gets a toy plays quietly by herself. She walks well on leash and will potty on leash (altho it sometimes takes a lttle time. Got to find that perfect spot). She rides very well in the car . This girl is a major roacher. She loves to sleep upside down. Although she does not have the decorating style that Bart has, she does like to help me with the house work. She will be going back to Dr Pierce in October also so there will be an update on her leg soon. She is using the leg but still hops on it more often then not. She has not been small animals tested yet but that will come soon. She is starting to come out of her shell a little more everyday but I dont think she will be overly busy.

Returning to Nashville Shortly!

I just wanted to let you know that Qinzykue is continuing to improve and show us a very sweet personality. For two weeks on Mon-Wed-Fri I took her back to Dr. Pearce so that he could change her bandage. Then this week, I took her Tuesday and he took an x-ray and removed her bandage. The sore that was present when she arrrived in Memphis is almost completely healed as is the broken bone. Dr. Pearce is very pleased. I will take her again tomorrow for another check and a soak (the "spa" treatment!) The final check should be next Wednesday and then to Nashville on the 18th.

It is almost as if she knows she must be careful so that her leg will heal properly. She loves attention, but is not at all "pushy" and she does that "clickin" thing some of you were writing about recently. She easily goes into the her crate. Really, the only somewhat negative things about her are (1) it takes her a very long time to decide where she wants to do her business. We must walk back and forth and forth and back numerous times in our backyard before she finds the perfect spot..... go figure (2) she operates on eastern time! I normally get up at 5:00, but she likes 4:15... you know how that last hour of sleep is so good?! Well, I've kinda been missing out on that lately! But believe me her "sweetness" more that makes up for any lost sleep. Bob and I agree that once she heals and gets to Meetin' and Greetin' in Nashville she wil have no problem finding her forever home. It has been a real joy having her in our guest crate.

Bandage Change

Qinzykue ("Kinsey") wanted me to take photos of her visit with Dr. Pearce today and her dressing change!

She is such a perfect houndie. At one point she had to lift her head to watch the process, kinda like she was checking to see that they were doing it right! She is going in for the dressing to be changed on Mon-Wed-Fri. Dr. Pearce is pleased with the incision site. He said it is healing very well and looks good.

When Qinzykue arrived, she had an ulcer-type sore under the bandage. It, too, is healing extremely well. All in all, she is doing great. At home with us, she is eating well, walks well on leash to do her business, but takes a really long time to find her favorite spot in our yard! She goes in our guest crate without a problem and settles right down. As you know, that is where she must stay while her leg is healing, but she doesn't seem to mind at all. (she really is a first class "roacher" in her crate.)
